| For
IST Majors, we have the choice of taking three difference introductory level
computer programming classes. I chose the most intense of the three: Computer
Science and Engineering 103. The course, taught by Professor Sue Ellen
Kase, was an intense beginners course to C++ designed for enterants to the
Computer Science and Engineering major.
Taught in a large lecture hall three times a week, with an additional breakout lab once a week, the structure was lectures by the professor and then a weekly lab problem to be submitted to the class TA by the end of lab. Additionally, there was also about one homework assignment every one to two weeks. Although I
am not planning on taking an other programming courses, I appreciated
what I learned in CSE 103. The process of designing an algorithm to solve
a problem is a useful technique with many applications. It also is good
to know a little of everything, and know I can claim to know a little
bit of C++. Class grade
received: A- |
