There's
a funny story that goes along with this picture. We were driving
around the northwest area of the big island of Hawaii and ended
up at a scenic overlook with no view. However, there was a path
down to, we presumed, the shoreline. My family was too tired to
walk down the long and rocky path, but energized and camera in hand,
I told my family I would be right back. Rushing down the hilly and
windy path, I snapped photo after photo of the foliage and the view
I saw. This photo, which I took at the lowest point on the path
that I ventured to, is of the adjacent shoreline and beach. Notice
how pretty the white waves look. Beautiful.
Well,
I was so involved with the beauty of my surroundings that I lost
track of time. After what I thought was only 10 minutes, I headed
back up the long, windy, rocky hill. About halfway up, I ran into
my Dad, who was attempting to make the trip down to make sure everything
was alright. I wasn't gone for 10 minutes, but almost an hour! Needless
to say, my brother and mother, both still waiting by the car, were
not too pleased with my journey. But for pictures like this, it
was worth it.
